The blend of casual atmosphere and quality food makes it an ideal place for both solo diners looking to work or read, as well as families and groups seeking ample portions and diverse menu options.

The heart of Kume Hibachi lies in its hibachi dishes, which stand out thanks to their fresh ingredients and balanced cooking. Vegetables like zucchini, broccoli, and onions maintain a satisfying crunch, providing texture that complements tender proteins such as steak, chicken, and scallops. The portions are generous, often large enough for sharing, making the restaurant a practical choice for those with hearty appetites. The steak, notably cooked to order, melts effortlessly, showcasing an attention to detail that many hibachi spots overlook.

Wings at Kume Hibachi deserve a separate mention. They arrive piping hot, with a crispy, delicate tempura-style batter that locks in juiciness. Whether it’s the house special, lemon pepper, or unique flavors like Cajun, the wings maintain a generous size and are consistently praised for their freshness and boldness in taste. For sauce lovers, the accompanying sauces like yum yum and steak sauce offer an added layer of flavor, allowing guests to customize each bite.

The restaurant’s layout and ambiance promote a relaxed, café-style vibe with plenty of seating that works well for quick solo lunches or casual family outings. While the décor is understated and the music pulls from popular contemporary playlists, the clean, uncluttered space invites customers to linger comfortably. This balance of calming environment with high-quality, freshly prepared food targeting busy professionals, families, and wing enthusiasts alike sets Kume Hibachi apart in Nashville’s dining scene.

Customer feedback consistently highlights the friendly staff and the prompt, thoughtful service you can expect here. While the ordering process is self-service, the experience remains warm and inviting. Pricing reflects the quality and portion size, positioning Kume Hibachi as a place where value meets taste, though mindful diners may note the tipping practice is different from traditional full-service restaurants.

When I walked in, I was kind of thrown by the fact that you order at the counter. I loved it because it just felt relaxed and like I could sit and work or read in that space and not feel rushed. I ordered a 6 piece cajun wing and a dinner size chicken hibachi combo which came with a drink and an egg roll. It was a little over $25 with a tip. The egg roll came out first and it was perfect. The outside was nice a crispy without being hard. The mixture on the inside was great with just enough meat. The wings were some of the most juicy wings I've ever had. They are fried in a tempura like batter. Then the cajun seasoning was sprinkled on top after frying. The seasoning didn't really add much to the wings. It wasn't spicy and didn't have much flavor. I could eat these wings all day. No sauce or seasonings necessary. The hibachi is about what you would expect from hibachi. This dinner sized place was probably almost exactly a square foot sized plate. It was huge. The sauce on the meat and veggies were good. The best part is that the zucchini, broccoli, and onion all still had a good crunch and weren't cooked to death. Two adults or a few kids could easily share the dinner size. The atmosphere was a little odd. I wasn't sure what they were going for. The interior is kind of plain. And it's set up almost café style with lots of seating for 2. Music was simply today's hits from Spotify or something that had ads. All in all, great experience and I will be going back.

Went here with the kids last night. We all shared a 16 piece of the house special flavor wings and we each had a hibachi plate. There was plenty of yum yum sauce and steak sauce (my favorite) which you could grab yourself. We had plenty to take home for later. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Parking is in the back of the building. Pros: 1. The staff was very friendly. 2. Dining area was very clean. 3. Food was tasty! The steak was cooked how we ordered it. I liked my scallops. 4. The wings were large and piping hot when they came out. The wing sauce was sweet and sticky. Cons: 1. I’m not used to paying over $100 for three people at a place where you order your meal and then sit down. The food was worth it, but my eyes bulged at the price. I shouldn’t have tipped 22% since it wasn’t full service. Overall, despite the high cost, the food was really good. I would definitely get more wings from here but I’ll be more mindful of the tipping point.

Incredible food! We came in on 4th of July and got to chat with the owner, Ben, for quite a while. Wings are made with potato flour and gluten-free. Hibachi steak was very tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The food was very fresh and not greasy. Best Hibachi in Nashville!

What a little gem! Came here with my boyfriend for lunch on Sunday and we ordered way too much- $50ish for steak/chicken hibachi, 12 piece lemon pepper wings w/ fries, crab Rangoon and the combo came with an egg roll. We took home over half the food and got a second meal out of it! Portion size is incredibly generous and we could have easily split just one of the items we ordered and been perfect. But you definitely get your moneys worth. Ample seating options and casual dining experience. Service was thoughtful, prompt, and friendly. We will be back!

The hibachi was delicious! The Kume Signature wings were up there as some of the best wings I have had in Nashville. They were fried perfect and the sauce was tasty. We visited at lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. The amount of food you get for the price is incredible. We will definitely be back!

So the service here is really great although you just order at the front. They have classic wings that are breaded and regular fried which is non-breaded wings just so you know. There was a slight mistake with my order and they promptly fixed it which was great. Love their wings here You can get them fried or with batter and then you can select your own sauce pretty darn good actually and the prices are super reasonable.

I just had what I think is probably the best teppanyaki I’ve ever had in my life at a little restaurant named Kume. The rice was absolutely incredible, the egg roll was amazing, and both the chicken and steak were cooked exactly the way we asked for—perfection! Even the Coca-Cola had that crisp, refreshing bite that hit the spot. The staff was outstanding—super friendly and genuinely caring, checking on us often to make sure we were happy. The environment was great, the location was convenient, and the prices were more than fair. If you haven’t tried Kume yet, do yourself a favor and go. You must try this place!
